The Sweetest Thing by U2
It amazes me how some artists can be totally insufferable in every song they write, and then suddenly release something that is touched by a god. I recently deleted the full discography of Kate Bush which I downloaded just for "Wuthering Heights"; Duran Duran just for "Ordinary World" and "Come Undone".
I think John Lennon called it "the music of the spheres". It's like they need to write all these songs just to practice their skills until something from outside of them can use them to bring a new gem to life. Old romantic view, I know, but I don't have a better explanation right now.
